"Babylonglegs was born out of a love of knitting, wool and cloth nappies. I started knitting my first pair just before my youngest son potty trained, and so needed a tester for them! Annie here at Puddlepants kindly volunteered her youngest as a tester, and I haven’t looked back since. There have been many changes and tweaks to all the patterns along the way, but now I am happy to offer rib knitted Longies especially for night-time wear, Shorts that can be used day or night, and Pants, again which can be used day or night. My Longies are made slightly longer in the rise and the leg, so they grow with your baby, and as the main body is knit completely in rib, they are extremely stretchy, but also form fitting.

"I buy most of the wool for my Longies from eBay, but am happy to fulfil custom orders in a specific type of wool (as long as its double knit weight). The wool for my Shorts and Pants is Aran weight wool called Bluefaced Leicester, which I hand dye myself with a popular American soft drink powder. It is wonderfully soft, and relatively hardwearing, making it perfect for children’s garments.

"All Custom orders will take up to a month (depending on workload!). I always over estimate my lead times, as a life with two very lively children just tends to happen! For custom orders, I need your babies’ waist and rise (over a night nappy for Longies) and inner leg measurements.
